Okay I love my country but here are some things that should be adopted here:

1. In the UK employers are required BY LAW to give people at least 4-6 weeks paid vacation each year. Because they know that people need to have time off to "recharge their batteries" so to speak. This would result in far less people having to take off for stress-related sickness.

2. In Germany a law is being pushed (and should pass) that would make it
illegal for employers to spy on people's facebook accounts, meaning
they can't fire someone for something that happened outside of work, or refuse to hire someone because of what that person posted on FB.

3. The legal drinking age should be lowered to 18. If people are allowed to go into the military at that age, they should be able to buy a damn beer!

4. Cut it out with this "sexy and nudity is bad" thing. I can't believe that parents let their kids play video games where the objective is to kill cops or run over people, but freak out if their kid sees some boob.

How about this, if you serve, you get 18, no service, stay 21.

#1) no problem sam, private business profits always remain intact in the
absence of paid employees. if an employee suffers as you say from a
'stress-related sickness', what the hell do you think the employer feels
paying his employees not to work?..............

ooooooohhhhhh, i get it - you must be talking about gov't. jobs!!

#2) sam, what have you been posting on facebook!?

#3) when i, as an adult parent, help my children pay for car insurance as they turn 16,
the rates are already thru the roof.....lowering the legal drinking age would only exacerbate the problem

#4) parents, scholars, historians, etc. freak out over all those
things (violence and pornography).....it's referred to as the decline of
western civilization ( history repeating / rome )

you voted for obama didn't you sam?

here's a true story - just happened this morning.
was at local high school with daughter this morning receiving her class schedule
for upcoming year - we bumped into her english teacher hauling some items
to her classroom........the teacher said

'good thing you caught me here, i'm volunteering my time today, next week
i'm actually back for good'

here's the deal - this lady looks at her job like a time clock, including holidays,
vacation and i'm sure also sick leave; she knows when she's being paid and
when she's not, and in today's case she is not and feels she had to let my
daughter and I know she was at the school out the goodness of her heart.
.........please........don't get me started.

sam, you should teach - get in the union, have summers off, enjoy
a pensioned retirement - one of strongest unions out there.
go for it - it's exactly what your employment wish list is.

Don't be an idiot when posting on facebook. Simple.

I've never had, nor will I ever have a facebook account. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing to hide, but I'm also not arrogant enough to think people are dying to hear what I had for lunch or what I'm going to do this weekend (for example) etc, etc....
