Is it just me or has this new race season and off season been the most boring yet ? I know it nobody's fault but just seams so ho hum . No big sponsors news ,no big crew chief changes {other than Tobler leaving Cruz } even first two races kinda boring ! It is nice to see Kalita doing well . Just my rant .

Oh Kurt we have to disagree. Having John Force in the first 2 finals of the year and winning has been outstanding. We couldn't have asked for a better scenario. Sure Ashley's car needs to catchup but we hope she'll get things really rolling in Gainesville.

Sincerely,

;)

Hey Kurt... Did you happen to see the semi final match up between Dixon and Schu? IDENTICAL RUNS? How often does that happen?

How bout' the funny car final in Pomona.... Force by about 7 inches on a HOLE SHOT?

I'd say the 50th was a pretty darn good and exciting race to kick off the season. Sure Phoenix was the buzz-kill but i've been impressed so far.

Heh Kurt, phoenix was far from boring, very tragic, but not boring. And don,t forget about lagana goin to shumacher(not sure about that last one).Feel free to spread it around though. Can I say that Charlet?

Hey Kurt, in all seriousness this time, the drama in Top Fuel and Funny Car was really Hight.....errr...high late last season. It will unfold.

That's a good one... you can say anything you like Micheal. It's the internet.. so it must be true...

O.k. everybody I'll recant my statement , the racing has been good , I'm glad to see Force doing well ,but am afraid it will just turn more attention to that camp away from ,well the lesser funded teams that are trying, and need, and deserve equal exposure . So how bout I just say the off season was boring can we agree with that one ?

Boring??...at least 12 sportsman crashes, cancelled races due to track or track prep, hazmat greetings at the gate, this after 1 national and 2 div. races, there is more to NHRA then Pro's

Did ya beat Hop Sing out of the job Karl??? Wow, that would be a shocker!

Eric, me, and Al think alike... I'll just sit and look at the pretty pictures on the 'puter, and let Hop, Al and Shooter make the calls...

But seriously... Mister Medlen has gone to the Dark Side? At least he has a Virginia Gentleman behind the butterflies...

d'kid

I don't think that its been boring per se but circumstances and poor timing haven't helped to fully ignite the passion.

A very good Winternationals turned into the still not finished Phoenix race. Beyond the terrible tragedy the race itselfs was bad. Crashes that shouldn't have happen, weather that nobody can control. Now with the long break until the Gators it has created much to long of a lull that further dampens things.

Once this season gets going more, things will improve.

i'll agree with you - but thank goodness for the few new colors and drivers
a quick count nets around 22 full time fuel cars, so another
huge thanks to the independents still out there filling the fields

i think if you look back over the last 20 or so years - 22 - 23 full time
is probably not far from the norm - maybe not so bad in 'this economy'.
