During March, NAPA offered 5 qts of Valvoline and a NAPA silver filter for $19.99. Valvoline then offered a $7 off rebate. So I tried it. They sent the check! Cool!

I'll send them $7 if they would quit running those embarrassing "NAPA Know How" ads where the customer and NAPA guy sing to each other..... I cringe every time I see one of them.

or they could just say "5 qts of Valvoline and a NAPA silver filter for $12.99"....but then they make so much more money banking on a typical American not wanting to do the rebate dance....

don't get me started on how many people see $12.99 as $12 rather than $13 either...

Years back I did one of those Castrol deals where they would send you a free NFL team hat or something for buying a case. This time it was for a John Force tee shirt. I sent back everything that was required, reciept, UPC code from the box, even had to send a couple of the rings that's left when you open up a quart, and then wait 6 to 10 weeks. Well about 6 weeks later I get back a letter saying that I didn't send the rings back in. I was pissed. Wrote a very nasty back saying I most certinally did send the ring in and hoped this was not there way of sticking it to their customers and if they did not follow through with a shirt I would never buy Castrol again, contact my states department of consumer protection etc. I had a shirt within 10 days of sending the letter back with an apology. I often wondered if they did that to others hoping they would not follow through.
