The ICEMAN’s New GTO

March 23, 2007 Tuscaloosa, AL - After several seasons of campaigning his trusty 68’ bodied camaro the ICEMAN has opted for a streamlined version 2007 GTO built by Jerry Haas and his staff in Fenton, Missouri to head into this weekends season opening IHRA event held in San Antonio, Texas.

Along with taking delivery of the new car this Winter the 6-time World Champion Driver and Tuner has remained plenty busy the past several months. “It’s seems as though we are starting from scratch this Spring. Obviously we sold are camaros in the later part of the season, started a new engine program with David Reher , built a new state of the art race shop to house Mike’s Castellana’s Awesome Motorsports team, purchased a new trailer and welcomed a great sponsor in Evan Knoll and TORCO Race Fuels” stated Jenkins from Baytown, Texas this evening.

With all that in the mix you wonder how one individual can keep so focused progressing in the ever so dieing breed of nitrous contingent Pro-Modified class. “ It’s been the same thing since I started racing Pro-Mod nitrous vs blowers. Those blower teams ran stellar last weekend in Gainesville I’m excited to get our new package to a National event and see just how good our hard work over the Winter has paid off.” Continued Jenkins.

San Antonio has been on or off track for the crowd favorite nitrous warrior ICEMAN. In 2006 he just missed the field watching as teammate Mike Castellana went on to race Sunday, The 2005 race went just opposite putting the ICEMAN solid in the field at the #3 spot and Runner up showing to the Winner Ed Hoover.

Don’t count the nitrous guys out just yet, it’s a long season and with the new motors all the top nitrous teams are going with there is still plenty of fight left in them.
