It seems some people still insist on saying “Happy Memorial Day.” It is anything but a “happy” holiday.
My heart goes out to all Gold Star families, and their family members who gave their all in defense of this country.

couldn't agree more. we are so far past WWII, we can only hope that future generations realize and understand the important history of our country;
the freedoms we enjoy yesterday, today and hopefully tomorrow are not free........no 'free' in 'freedom' as the saying goes. unfortunately i sense an erosion
in the appreciation of how our once great nation rose up to defend those freedoms that allow our individual rites that are the same or greater than all other countries.
