Inaugural Summit Racing Equipment Nationals
June 28-July 1, 2007
Summit Racing Motorsports Park
Norwalk, Ohio
“I have really good memories of racing at Norwalk . It’s been a long time, but I did race there. I ran Funny Car in 1989 and ‘90. Norwalk was actually the first race that Gary Evans and I competed with our own team. We went there with the following spare parts, one
connecting rod, two wrist pins and two intake and exhaust pushrods. And, we went to the second round. I’m curious to see the changes and how Norwalk has shaped up because they now have the elite of drag racing competing there.
“We’re looking forward to competing this weekend. Fortunes can change quickly in this sport. We’re working hard to change our fortunes. We’ll have a lot of Matco Tools guests at the race this weekend, so we want to do well for them.”
Bazemore Norwalk Notebook

He enters the Norwalk race ranked 10th in the NHRA Top Fuel
standings. He trails teammate Rod Fuller by 248 points. He is 32 points behind Bob Vandergriff, Jr. for the coveted eighth position in the standings. There are seven races remaining before the Countdown to the Championship begins with the U.S. Nationals on Sept. 3.
