22nd annual O’Reilly Fall Nationals
Sept. 20-23

“ Dallas is one of the tracks that has a big history in our sport. It’s a very fast track and the second to last race in the Countdown to Four. So, that gives the race some added significance that it didn’t have in the past. We’re going there very prepared and with the ability and confidence to win the race. We’re working on fine tuning our setup and we’re in a good place.”

Bazemore Dallas Notebook

Last weekend in Memphis , Bazemore raced to the No. 4 qualifying spot with a run of 4.568 seconds at 297.61 mph. It was the fifth time that he qualified fourth this year. Bazemore advanced to the second round before a broken lifter ended his day. He recorded low elapsed time of the event (4.560seconds) for the 26th time in his career.

The 20-time NHRA winner enters the 20th race on the 2007 NHRA schedule ranked eighth in the Countdown to Four standings. He trails fourth place driver Brandon Bernstein by 94 points for the final position in the Countdown to Four.

Bazemore earned his 30th career pole at the Houston race in March. He became the 15th driver in NHRA history to earn poles in both Top Fuel and Funny Car. He has an average starting spot of 7.58 this season. His career qualifying average at Texas Motorplex is 6.94.

Bazemore earned the pole at Texas Motorplex in 2001 when he drove his Lee Beard-tuned Funny Car to a pass of 4.753 seconds at 325.37 mph.

Texas Motorplex is one of five active NHRA facilities where Bazemore has yet to advance to a final round: Phoenix , St. Louis , Norwalk and Richmond .
