My favorite driver, he has done it all in Top Fuel and especially Funny Car. Relentless drive and courage, but modest almost to a fault. I had several good discussions with Mark over the years, when Doug Dragoo and Bill ? from Iowa were on his Petosa team, I got more of a close look at the workings of a pro team. I was at the top end at the Motorplex in 1990 when the C&H Motorcraft Probe blew up in the lights, scary explosion and crash. A short time later he was thrashing in the pits, that guy had no fear. No driver in the pits was respected anymore than Mark, in my exposure to the teams in that era.
