You can still run two classes as long as both are not pro, correct?

Yes. Alex Laughlin, Drew Skillman and Erica Enders have done it recently. I think that Shawn Langdon has done it as well. I can't remember a driver in recent times running both a Nitro and Alcohol car at the same race.

Gary Scelzi ran both Nitro and Alcohol Funny Car at a few event in the late '00s.

just want to say one thing about indy......ron capps will go down in history as one of the best drivers in nhra's history,
regardless of whether or not ron ever wins indy......indy is folk lore. i am getting really tired of all the 'indy' crap. it used to
be a big deal. it's not anymore.......drive over one state in late june/early july. norwalk. there's another great race that
is well attended by racers and fans. the tracks are both in a great location.....and there are many other great races too.
each for their own reasons.......IMO the daytona 500 and the indy 500 have both lost their iconic value too......every year, all 3
of these races.....blah, blah, blah.....they're not a big deal anymore....winning them does not 'change your career'.

I agree Mike. I submit that the economics of racing in all forms have reduced the luster on these iconic races to the point that "they're just another race". When NHRA was holding only 8 national events a year, Indy had a mystical appeal. Indy's history is littered with awesome stories, but it seems those iconic moments became less frequent when high-gear only rear ends, dual fuel pumps, dual magnetos, multi-stage clutches, and on-board computers became the norm. I know there will be plenty who disagree with our position on this subject, but it's just an opinion. While I will be attendance at Indy, I don't look at it as "if you attend only one race, it's gotta be Indy". I go to Indy more for the friends I get to visit with than anything else. If I was only going to attend one race based on racing, I'd pick Pomona.
