MARTIN, MI (June 4, 2009) – Cody Barklage and his Lucas Oil team are off to U.S. 131 Motorsports Park in Martin, MI for the ADRL Ford Drive One Summer Drags V. After a very positive weekend during the last ADRL race, Barklage and team are anxious to be back on the drag strip.
“We’re performing more at our usual standard,” said Barklage. “After the last race a couple of weeks ago, our whole team outlook has been brighter. Our fans and sponsors are used to seeing us being a highly competitive team, and I feel we’re getting back on track.”
Although the team suffered a first round loss at the last event, everyone is confidant the team is moving in the right direction.
“A couple of weeks ago we were in the top half of the field, and were one of the most consistent cars all weekend,” added Barklage. “We’ve always worked on the idea that not only do you need to go fast, but you need to do so in a very consistent way. We’re really doing well at achieving our goals. Now, it’s time for us to go rounds. My Lucas Oil, Goodyear Firebird is responding well to our tune-ups and what we demand. Our overall team goal, like everybody else, is to go rounds all the way to the finals!”
