Suggestion For Fox Sports (1 Viewer)

No one has said get rid of the announcers, I like to hear info about the drivers and cars too. It's very simple what I was trying to say in my post. Can we duplicate the track experience on TV? Not a chance. Can we watch the race on TV from startup to chutes out without any other sound except the cars? Yes. Their is plenty of time for the announcers to say what they have to say. IF you ever watch .TV long enough you will hear Jason and Courtney babble about nothing and you want to scream while you see nitro spitting out of the pipes but can't hear a thing. Talk less but intelligently, improve the sound of the cars and EVERYONE will be happy. And we'll all say hello to each other at our closest live event!
I remember sitting in the NHRA members tent adjacent to the the track at Indy, watching .TV and hearing the actual car sound right behind us, that is how it should sound LOL!

I'm alwasy trying to position myself at the dragstrip where I CAN hear the announcers because I always feel like I could learn something new, despite having attended national events for the past 42 years. These days, I need help identifying whose Super Comp dragster is whose because all these weird graphics on the dragsters aren't distinctive enough for me to memorize whose car is which!
Hey, we finally found the guy who watches Super Comp! 😂

when you've been there a day already, it's saturday, it's hot and your feet are sore, there is nothing better than
a round of super cars with a few cold ones at the finish line. you can hear everything; announcers, cars, and fans.
It's really a weird feeling watching from the top end. Most of the noise is behind the car but the blower whines away toward you

Were you watching on .TV this past weekend? Did you notice something different, missing and noticeably better?

They interview people on top end after a run while the next pair is starting and still talking until the cars are staging. I would rather see a much shorter interview and more of the cars doing the burnouts and the announcers telling about the cars after the burnout. They NHRATV are now going to the Peak add and pics of people in the stands over and over during the down time BORING. They could be interviewing a racer in the tower or show some canned video taken in the pits. Didn't think I was signing up for Peak add and pics of people in the stands, that's not racing.
They still have a bunch of amateurs putting all the TV together.

The 3 hour broadcast is scheduled for a 3 hour time limit. There is no 3.5 allotment. 3 hours. Yet multiple times during broadcast, they are unable to fit an entire race day in 3 hours of broadcast.

Take yesterday as example. I recorded the broadcast and just after Jordan Vandergriff's victory and his interview, the "Do You Want To Delete" option popped up, meaning the broadcast was at the 3 hour time limit. No more race coverage to be shown.

The NHRA had tape delayed coverage of the day but screwed up and couldn't get it edited to fit in 3 hours!!! No, they instead showed Halloween costumes and driver fluff interviews instead of the Top Fuel final race.

This is not the first time I recorded a race only to have the broadcast end before the final race over the past 3(?) years.

The NHRA has 3 hours to showcase their product and they can't even get it right. Heads should roll in the video editing department, because this is a clown show.

Now I get to watch the final race on my phone.

To your point, do we really need the first 10-15 minutes of air time for interviews or filler before the first pair of TF is shown?

recorded the vegas race via hulu live. 3 hr. deal was complete with all final rounds and interviews, including PM final and interview.
..... i agree, every show starts with around 15 minutes of fluff before first pair of E1 is shown. i am not a fan of this. also, why use the
captions 'finals round 1' instead of 'eliminations round 1'? IMO it is confusing for a casual viewer.

You do realize that the race was delayed some time due to high winds, and they didn’t even run the finals of PSM. Sometimes circumstances are out of one’s control…

They were live for the finals. They can't stop time.

FS1 was not a live broadcast as it had a set record time right after the broadcast of Q1 from Saturday. I get the weather delay issues, but the actual broadcast was tape delayed long enough to edit for the entire showing of the race. From people that I know who were there, Nitro eliminations started around 11:00 AM. May have been live on NHRA.tv.

Per NHRA email: In addition to every second of the action live on NHRA.tv, FS1 will provide television coverage of qualifications on Sunday at 3:00 PM, while eliminations begins at 5:00 PM. All times are Eastern.
