After Top Qualifying the Kitten Car Care Products Funny Car in every round of the Australian Top Alcohol Championship he has contested so far this season, Drag Racing champ Brett 'The Boss' Stevens has finally gone all the way to taken his first victory of the year in the bracket.
Competing at the National Open 'Night Fire' event at Queensland's Willowbank Raceway, Stevens was always going to be one of the favourites to take out the event after a string of stellar performances in recent months and he didn't disappoint, laying down a 5.72 second pass to take the number one qualifying spot again.
He then went all the way to break through for the victory, which also considerably closed the gap in the National Championship race with Stevens now only 85 points behind the series leader in second place with 3 rounds remaining to run.
"To finally take a win this season in Top Alcohol after having the Kitten Car Care Products Funny Car at the top of the field for so long is a great result for the team," Stevens said.
"It has also given us the boost we needed in the race for the National Championship, with us being able to considerably narrow the gap on the current leader."
"With us having the Funny Car running so well at the moment we will be gunning to go all the way for the Title."
In another great result for the Brett Stevens Racing outfit, Dion Prowse aboard the teams S&S powered Pro Stock Buell kept his undefeated title intact with his third win out of three events.
Adding to the Drag Racing rookie's stellar result was the round one elimination of his closest Championship threat, giving him the chance to extend his lead and put him in a commanding position to take the Australian Title.
"I really can't believe how well we are going this season, it is the first my first ever stint in Drag Racing and on a brand new bike that had previously never been raced in Australia, it is just incredible," Prowse said.
"It really shows the professionalism of the Brett Stevens Racing team and I am glad I am able to reward both S&S and Brett (Stevens) with my results on race track."
"There is now only two rounds remaining in the National Championship and my goal is to take home the Pro Stock Motorcycle Title for the team."
The next round of the Australian Drag Racing Championship will be at the Western Sydney International Dragway in New South Wales on February 16-17.
