BRISTOL, Tenn. – Greg Stanfield’s racing action at Bristol Dragway Sunday lasted only 6.726 seconds because Greg Anderson lit the win light in their opening-round race in the rain plagued Ford Thunder Valley Nationals.
Anderson, who was timed in 6.710 seconds at 204.32 mph, advanced to the semifinals and was able to slip past Stanfield into third place in NHRA Full Throttle Pro Stock standings. Meanwhile, race winner Mike Edwards climbed into second place, leaving Stanfield’s Nitro Fish/Coffman Tank Trucks GXP team fourth with 617 points.
Pacesetter Jason Line has 694 points, Edwards 670 and Anderson 645.
Stanfield and the tightly bunched Pro Stock field return to action Friday when the Summit Racing Equipment Nationals begins a three-day run at Norwalk, Ohio.
