Spiering ready for Edmonton IHRA event
“With updates on the Eaton Road Warrior Camaro, it’s full speed ahead”

JORDAN STATION, ONTARIO (July 4, 2007) – After getting some seat time with the new car setup recently, Pro Modified drag racer Carl Spiering and his team are ready for their first major race of the season. Spiering will compete in the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) Knoll - Gas Nitro Jam Drag Racing Series, the fourth event of the 11-race series this weekend in Edmonton, Alberta.

The Fifth Annual IHRA CARS RV, Marine & Motorsports Rocky Mountain Nationals presented by Torco Race Fuels will begin Friday, July 6, in Edmonton, Alberta and will conclude with championship eliminations Sunday, July 8.

"We competed in Mission, British Columbia last weekend and everything went well," said Spiering from somewhere in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. "We put the first laps on the Eaton Road Warrior this year, and are confident the power is there in our 526-cubic inch Supercharged Brad Anderson ERD (Engine Research & Development) Hemi.”

With a serious passion for fast machines in any type of competition, Spiering and his Carl Spiering Motorsports Eaton Electrical 1967 Supercharged Chevrolet Camaro is one of the hottest Pro Modified racers on the drag race circuit.

"It will be the first time competing utilizing the new IHRA gear rule and the team is up for the challenge," added Spiering. "G-Force Race Cars did some updates on the hot rod over the winter and everything looks full speed ahead."

Carl Spiering's 2006 campaign in the competitive IHRA Torco’s CompetitionPlus.com Pro Modified division was successful. Consistency in qualifying, plus a stout and dependable engine program were key factors to his performance last year and continues to be a contender in the chase for the 2007 Torco Race Fuels Pro Modified Shootout.

Spiering, finished the season in seventh position in the 2006 IHRA eMax Nitro Jam™ Drag Racing Series.

The CARS RV & Marine & Motorsport Rocky Mountain Nationals, International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) Knoll - Gas Nitro Jam™ Drag Racing Series presented by Torco Racing Fuels, is scheduled for July 6 – 8 at Castrol Raceway.
