Spencer 0 for 1. A great start

The pro drivers that I hung around with in the 70's make Spencer look like a choirboy...jus sayin.
Spencer lives and breathes racing. When he's not attending national events, he's helping other drivers at divisional and local events. I'll continue to root for him.

I'm glad none of you have ever done something really stupid or even offensive for which you were later very sorry. Spencer didn't get away with what happened, he got fired. For a young man living his dream, that's quite a wake-up call. Yes, he got rehired, for whatever reason, and according to all reports is going to anger management and knows he has a target on his back. So, how about giving him a chance and seeing if he really has learn from his mistakes. No one is perfect....unless someone died and made you God, and I doubt that happened.

How many on here, who are crucifying Massey, actually heard and saw what he supposedly did at the awards banquet?
Don Schumacher has already given his side of the story on the 'mater. Are those same people calling Shoe a liar because of his explanation?
We heard Massey's side on TV.
What more needs to happen?
I can understand rooting against someone. But, whew, don't get so personal.

I've spoken to Whit numerous times, and he was always great to have a conversation with. I have nothing against spencer. and i dont know what he said about antron. BUT the problem for me and i think others is that Don S said he was fired because he brought a cooler to the awards . not something that most people would fire a very talented driver for. So either tell us the truth or dont say anything. its only Don and spencers business as far as im concerned. BUT if they feel the need to explain themselves please tell the truth

I remember meeting Spencer way back when he crewed on Scott Palmer's AA/FC. He always seemed like a decent kid to me and he didn't seem any different when he jumped to the big leagues. I'm pretty sure he realized he screwed up and that it's gonna take a while to earn back that respect.

I agree, the song and dance their giving is a joke. If drinking too much is the issue then AA would make more since then anger management classes. I think saying Spencer said some things that could have a negative effect on DSR as whole and we decided to part ways so the unfunded team wouldn’t impact the funded teams. Then we found funding for the car that requested SM to be the pilot and after looking the whole deal over, it made since to put the 3rd team back out there with SM driving. It’s really not anyone’s business, or better yet, who cares where the $ comes from, GS, long lost uncle, Tony’s inheritance, petroleum credits or anything else. The big issue is when you make a big deal about something in November and the tune changes in Feb. I find it interesting DS is so concerned about killing Spencer’s dream when there are dozens of licensed fuel drivers who will wither away without another chance because of funding. Why is it such a secrete or taboo that the majority of pro racers have a sugar daddy to fund their seat. Like it or not, there just aren’t too many paid drivers.

Just FYI. the public persona of Bazemore on camera either in the heat of competition or with a mic in his face in the pits is very different than talking to him away from the track or one on one at the track. He is usually very cordial and accomadating as long as you show some courtesy.

I'm sure every driver hates having the mike and camera in their face after a loss....that's why I'll never get between my favorite P/S driver Allen Johnson and a water bottle!

Biggg difference in us and a top fuel driver under the public eye. You have to be on your toes when youre in a position such as massey. No one is perfect,bottom line. He was given a second chance. What he does with it is totally in his hands. I for one will not be rooting for him.
