My father who is the pillar of the family has had his mind slipping recently, went for an MRI today, the DR called back an hour later and said get to the hospital fo a CT. Thats never good. The mind slipping is a massive tumor on the brain. Our family is really shaken. Positive thoughts for Monday when the Neurologist looks it over that there are options. CANCER SUCKS!!!!!!!!

Just an update. This morning was the surgery. They said it would take 3 to 4 hours. 2 hours into it the nurse came out to give an update and said it would be another 1.5 to 2 hours. 20 minutes later the Dr came out. Not what you want to see. So expecting the worst news he gives us 2 thumbs up. Says it is done. It has been completely removed and it was not stage 4 cancer they said it was Monday. It was not cancerous at all. It sounded like a movie court seen when the the defendants family hears the not guilty verdict. A few hours later he was moving his hands and toes. A little after that his eyes started to open the nurse says "Roy, I'm the one poking and yelling at you, say something" Pops opens his eyes and proceeds to say "Your a pain in my ass" As of now everything indicates a full recovery.Long day but way better than any one of us expected in our wildest dreams.

Jim, I don't know you or your family but said prayers when I learned of the diagnosis earlier this week. After reading this miraculous story I can only imagine your family's elation. A great example to never, ever, give up!

Nope never give up. Tears of joy. Thanks for thoughts n prayers, Still processing everything.
One thing I've learned over the year is the drag racing family at times may not agree at argue, bicker but it's a great 2nd family to have, NOW Stockers to the lanes :)

Very humbling experience. Getting wrapped up into your own life you forget the simple things. Today he wanted to go for a walk around the floor with the kids. Kind of disappointed he didn't want to go for a 2nd lap.

Hey just wanted to give an update. Cheryl, slow and steady pisses him off :). The tumor was a little larger than a tangerine. Almost 3 months out and he isn't listening to one thing I say about slowing down. The dr Monday was kind of bewildered at the surgery/age /tumor / size /recovery. F$#kin awesome!!!
