It takes a fellow mater to point this out. It should have been expressed by NHRA bosses when they told no about the sponsorship. Thanks for letting us know Tony!
Some nefarious people will always misuse the avenues they have available to them unfortunately. it doesn't mean that the baby needs to be thrown out with the bathwater.
You may laugh, but historic racecars in Australia aren't permitted to run with their original liveries if they were tobacco related due to advertising laws. Tobacco sponsors Played a massive part in local Motorsports (drag racing included) up until the end of 1995.Jeez, now we are going to have to blur out any pics of the Chi Town Hustler..... and the LA Hooker......
I've never visited the site; don't intend to but I do know that outright x-rated pornography was banned from OnlyFans nearly 4 years ago. I also know that they've branched out with sponsorship of many sports-related venues, in particular motorcycle and bicycle racing. This is crazy. I never heard of OnlyFans so I googled it, it does have other content like musicians but it seems to be primarily for sexual content. No it doesn't seem approriate for a family oriented sport so for 2 years the Nhra had no idea what this sponsor was all about?!! Unbelievable.
The ban never went into effect - it was reversed shortly after they announced it. There are a bunch of articles about it, but here is one https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/OnlyFansI've never visited the site; don't intend to but I do know that outright x-rated pornography was banned from OnlyFans nearly 4 years ago. True but completely irrelevant to how the NHRA handled this.Fifty years ago, my dad could give 10 year old me a note and I could go to the store and buy him cigarettes. Or I could just get them out of a vending machine.
Fifty years ago, you could smoke on an airplane, in a restaurant or even in a hospital.
Fifty years ago, Men's magazines were on the newsstand (not behind the counter) available to be seen by anyone of any age, who wanted to pick it up.
Fifty years ago if you were driving drunk, you could expect to get a ride home from the cop.
Fifty years ago, what my dad called "Discipline" is now called "Child Abuse".
Things Change.....

And your take on allowing them to sponsor her for two years then deciding to yank the rug out for season 3 when the contacts are signed and then making no public statements about the subject? At least have the guts go publicly admit they had no idea what was going on inside their organization and apologize to her and her team who work very hard to put the car on the track. NHRA just walking away and saying nothing is a really bad look.and her race team deserves better than that. Thing change but professionalism and courtesy should never change and the NHRA failed big timeFifty years ago, my dad could give 10 year old me a note and I could go to the store and buy him cigarettes. I agree. I wasn't aware the ban was lifted. I didn't know anything about it at all until I looked it up; never visited the place. The ban never went into effect - it was reversed shortly after they announced it. Personally I don’t think it’s appropriate to have a firm that’s primary business is hard-core porn advertising in the NHRA. I really don’t think seeing the Onlyfans, Pornhub.com and Xvideo.com cars competing to win the Countdown is a very good look for a mainstream sport.
NHRA banned it because they wouldn't be able to swoop in and make them an Official Whatever of the NHRA.
maybe I'll send an application for a job at NHRA, checking Adult Video Sites and make sure none of them are sponsors on a race car. . . . . i'll work for free !!!. . . . so for 2 years the Nhra had no idea what this sponsor was all about?!! Unbelievable.
