Awesome! but the question was the oldest professional winner.
Maybe I'm just old and cynical. I can picture Steve Evans being excited for John getting out of the car commenting on him being back again and better yet, on a holeshot, then sticking the microphone in John's face and letting John be John.
If you saw it Eugene then I have to believe it.Does anyone have a video of the run between John and Courtney? From where I was standing and watching the replay on the big screen it looked like Courtney dropped a cylinder and lifted and then got back in it for a split second. John deserved the win and he got it.
I'd check YouTube but it IS available on AllAccess at 1:54:30 - I thought Courtney hesitated for just a blink but (stopping the action) she never opened the blades again. The flames seemed (to me) normal - certainly no obvious wet pipe spewing.Does anyone have a video of the run between John and Courtney? Don't take my word for it I was so tired on Sun that I might have been seeing aliens running down the track. But, I would like to see a replay of that run in slow mo. I remember thinking to myself that she did a good job of getting off the throttle before it had the chance to blow up. There were a lot of cars dropping cylinders at Denver "that I know for sure".If you saw it Eugene then I have to believe it.

I was looking for dropped cylinders too and didn't see any. That doesn't necessarily mean it wasn't happening. If Courtney was going to take a dive for her dad, intentionally moving toward the wall would not be the way to do it when you consider how beat up and bruised she got when she slapped the wall hard last year.In fairness Bob Orme -on the Summit Drag round-by-round report said>>Courtney made a move toward the wall and she lifted. John drove away for the win. He's going to his 3rd final this year, looking for his 1st win this year. It will be his 251st final round. <<<<
I just viewed it again - she WAS veering toward the wall ('tho there was no OBVIOUS wet pipe) - If she was running someone else...would she stay with it? I have no idea... Enough conspiracies for one thread....I'm happy for John (though if it's close at the end and my guy Wilk JUST misses the countdown, I reserve the right to revisit the conspiracy with much more conviction<G>).
When are you going to be back to BP for real drag racing?Don't take my word for it I was so tired on Sun that I might have been seeing aliens running down the track. The Wed after the swing. When are you going to be back to BP for real drag racing?
Why does everyone automatically assume his competitor took a dive when he beats another JFR car? Yall hate him that much?
