Smith is ready to shine in Gainesville (1 Viewer)

KING, NC (March 2, 2011) – Angie Smith spent most of her off-season across seas in Doha, Qatar helping her husband, Matt Smith race in the Pro Extreme Motorcycle and Pro Extreme car classes. She is now however; ready for her turn.

Smith has been racing motorcycles since 2000 and has dominated in every class she has run in. She has spent the past few years racing on and off in the NHRA, and is ready for her time to shine in 2011.

Teaming up with Team Safety Sentry Motorsports, Coffman Tank Trucks and Yonke Motorsports, the beauty from the South wants to prove she is more than just a pretty face to the boys in the NHRA. The past few years, she has played the spoiler in the Countdown, taking out Champions right and left, but this year she is ready for her turn at the top of the sheet.

“I have been pretty competitive over the last few years,” says Angie Smith. “But it always seemed as if one thing was missing. Don’t get me wrong it was fun beating NHRA Full Throttle Champions in the Countdown, but I am ready for my turn at the title. With Team Safety Sentry Motorsports coming on board this year, I think we can get it done.”

With full backing and Smith’s confidence higher than ever, she is ready to get the 2011 season kicked off at the 42nd annual Tire Kingdom NHRA GatorNationals in Gainesville, Florida.

Qualifying will begin on Friday, March 11 at 12:00 p.m. eastern standard time for the NHRA GatorNationals.

Team Safety Sentry Motorsports, "The Trailer Towing Device," has joined the NHRA tour as primary sponsor of Pro Stock driver Greg Stanfield and Pro Stock Motorcycle rider Angie*Smith.
Team Safety Sentry Motorsports is the premier supplier of the new Safety Sentry Hitch Lock that safeguards trailers against detachment, theft, and accidents. With safety trailer hitch locks currently required in many states, the timing seems perfect for the upstart company, which will sell its device at all 2011 NHRA Full Throttle Series Events.

SIDE NOTE: Even with her busy schedule of racing in the Pro Stock Motorcycle class in 2011, Smith will also be working towards getting her Pro Stock car license before the end of the season.
