I think the whole drawing for the 8th spot blows...and not just because I`m a CMac fan. They don`t draw for the final spot for any of the other speciality races, and don`t give me the whole "it`s because we`re in Vegas" b.s. It should be the Top 8 period! I remember a couple years ago when Dixon wasn`t in, yet magically he got drawn for that last spot, I think the whole things fishy.

I Agree 100% imagine if you were 8th place & # 9 was 100 points behind you.... so he gets to race the #1 car.. & if #1 goes up in smoke you or (the pick) is in the semis) I think the "TRUE" #8 car is getting a screwing...

why don't they throw out the #1 car they would prevent anyone from getting too far ahead of the pack.. every #1 car would be taking dives to be #2 so they wouldn't get bumped

Of course I'm just being sarcastic.... but it makes about as much sense as the current plan..

I'm happy for Baca but I agree I don't like the pick the spot either.
It's manipulating the system...much like next years points chase will be.


Watch out I heard in 2008 they'll just eliminate the first 22 races, have a drawing for find out who will be the the champ

Didn't this "drawing" come about 2 or 3 years ago when the red rail was out of the top 8? They came up with this drawing and magically drew the red rail out of the contetsants?
Didn't have coffee this morn, so I'm a little foggy on that memory.

Can`t remember if the Bud car won the lottery from the 8 spot, but I know Dixon did one year, pretty sure Grubnic did too.
