Somewhat drag racing related . . . received a call From Ray Haroun Jr (whose father won the first Indianapolis 500). He's 97, and a little confused about what he is hearing about Impact from IRL contacts.
It appears from a March 26 notice from SFI that ALL Impact products will be decertified effective 90 days from March 24th. This would seem to include all 140 racing series that subscribe to SFI Specification Programs.

I realize we're focused on drag racing here, but if someone has an answer i can give to Ray, I'd appreciate it. - Jim

The SFI press release is quite clear: "Impact’s participation in all SFI programs will end June 22, 2010".

I called Impact about my 2008 /5 jacket and pants. They would offer me 50% off on a new jacket and pants. I had to mail my current stuff to them. I thought about taking them up on the deal, but then I heard about the non-fireproof thread issue......bbaaaaabyyeee!
