SAN ANTONIO, TX (June 1, 2011) – American Drag Racing League (ADRL) officials announced on Wednesday an agreement which makes SEFTM, developed by VP Racing Fuels, the Official Small Engine Fuel of the ADRL.

With the agreement, SEF will be used exclusively by ADRL’s Safety and Track Prep crews in their portable gas-powered equipment. SEF will receive brand exposure at ADRL race sites and also be featured on the ADRL’s live event webcasts.

“We’re pleased to have SEF named the Official Small Engine Fuel of ADRL,” said Steve Scheidker, VP’s Director of Marketing. “Like many other operators of gas-powered tools, the ADRL’s crews have had to deal with the damage inflicted on their small engines by street gas containing ethanol.

Partnering with ADRL will help us build awareness for ethanol-free SEF as the best solution to that problem among race fans and other consumers.”

“ADRL places a top priority on safety,” ADRL Executive Vice President Jeff Fortune said. “When we’re preparing the racing surface or dealing with emergencies on the track, our equipment must start quickly and reliably. Whether it’s the Jaws of Life, generators or blowers, SEF will help ensure easier starts and dependable performance of all our gas-powered light equipment.”

SEF Small Engine Fuel was designed by VP Racing Fuels specifically to combat ethanol-related problems in 2-cycle and 4-cycle gas-powered tools. The ethanol in street gas can attract moisture, degrade fuel lines and leave deposits in the fuel system, causing hard starts and requiring expensive repairs.

“Unlike fuel stabilizers which can’t fix all the problems related to ethanol, SEF prevents them from occurring in the first place,” Scheidker said. “In addition to easier starts, SEF provides worry-free long-term storage If left in the equipment, it will remain stable through the off-season and beyond, and for at least two years in a sealed container.”

SEF is available in convenient quart-size containers in three versions to meet virtually any manufacturers’ specifications — a specially formulated gasoline for 4-cycle engines and two versions pre-mixed with oil (40:1 and 50:1) for 2-cycle applications. Each is “ready-to-use,” with the 2-cycle Pre-Mixed versions requiring no measuring, mixing or mess — just pour it in!

In addition to quarts, SEF is available in 5-gallon pails, as well as 30- and 54-gallon drums. The oil used in SEF 2-cycle formulas is a top quality synthetic oil that exceeds API TC and JASO FD lubrication standards. SEF is for portable gas-powered light equipment only. It may not be used in motor vehicles.

“Many owners of chain saws, weed whackers and other equipment know the frustration of tools that won’t work when needed and the inconvenience of costly rebuilds,” Scheidker said. “With SEF, that frustration will be a thing of the past.”
