I could comment on this but it would kill the thread so I will stay quiet. Let the thread continue!!

Don Schumacher

do I see the possibility for a new nickname here?

Don "Threadkiller" Schumacher

has a nice ring to it ..

plus, I bet that even though you would answer the questions previously posed in this thread, it would not die because someone would still try and fling some crap around .. lol.

I dunno how anyone can find much bad to say about FastJack Beckman???

Now Terry Jones on the other hand................................

So, Did Leah complete her Full runs running to 1320 or 1000' Runs???? I wondered how the new distance would effect new Licensing procedures...

As for Gary and the Don... Their business guys... not ours. If you remember a few years ago, many people here said that JACK BECKMAN kicked Whit Bazemore out of the seat because he "BOUGHT THE RIDE" from Schu. However, Jack being able to finish the year in that car permitted him to collect bonus points for the SKOAL showdown.. If I remember correctly... OH YEAH, HE WON THAT NEXT YEARS RACE and $100,000!!! So, whatever happens over there, is there business.
Personally I'd like to see Gary finish the year in the Mopar/Oakley Dodge and get ONE MORE WIN! What I'd really like to see is Todd O get better and back out to the track.....

Newsflash for you Mr. Charlet...... everything on these boards is someone elses business. Mr. Scelzi made, apparently, more than one comment Sunday on a nationally televised program. I mentioned it here, on an open forum, as I was surprised it hadnt been discussed by the following Tuesday afternoon. At which time it went slightly off track and became a discussion of events a year or more old, not pertaining to the driver I mentioned, albeit in an almost slightly similar situation, and those mens employer.

You replied in a manner that projected that it was improper to discuss it. However in Mr. Schumachers post on this thread (after your post) he didnt appear to take offense, in fact he seemed mildly amused by this discussion.

I mean you no disrespect Tim, however I see a trend here and on other boards that I frequent where some members take it upon themselves to decide the suitability of a subject for discussion.

He'll slither back into the hole he came out of....

As far as Bazemore and respect - brain should probably be engaged before putting mouth in gear -

Three years ago at my first drag race I learned - no one likes Bazemore! Last year at the U.S. Nationals - it was Friday night and qualifying was over. I'm walking back to the campground with my brother in law and I'm talking to him about Bazemore. He's saying - "yeah, no one likes him." The guy in front of us said -"huh? Who you talking about? Bazemore? Yeah, I can't stand that guy!" I thought, ok. No one likes Bazemore!

I may be the only one, but I always liked Bazemore. I guess that makes me a 'no one'.
Start slamming my opinion now if you wish~~~it won't make any difference to me.

Don Schumacher

I'd love to be a fly on the wall when the Don signs on his computer--wouldn't you?

" OK-time to go to Nitromater to see what I'm doing wrong..." :p

Thanks for stopping by Mr. Shoe!

One of the best replacement drivers for Scelzi would be Mendy Fry.

Awesome nitro driver, a lifetime of nitro credibility and experience, good looks, right age demographics, and extremely marketable on all levels. Plus she can do accountant-ing.

Mendy should be on the Big Show Tour! It would be one of the best decisions Don Schumacher could make. It would be up there with signing Alan Johnson!

That is soooo typical of Terry Jones...............come into the room and rip off a big ole' FART and leave! Simply lovely!!!

What Jim Said:)

Since your dropping names, wouldn't it be cool if they got Dean Skuza back in the seat - wasn't he the original Matco Dodge funnycar? Then bring back the half track burnout, he'd quickly become a fan favorite again.

About every other day, I catch lunch at my desk and read NitroMater. You'd be shocked at the number of days I find this more entertaining than the qualifying show on Saturday night.

This is one of those days.

No, Lori, you aren't the only one. I've always like Whit as a driver too. Don't know him personally, so I can't say one way or the other if I "like" him :D But then I've always been partial to those drivers who aren't bashful..

1. Try never to disrespect someone's job. Especially when you can't toss away the potato chips, chug the Budweiser, walk out your front door and DO IT!

2. I like Whit Bazemore! Whit come back! I need ya man!

Scott:

Your response to my post was very well thought out and well written. I take you as a person who understands the sport, but is very diplomatic in their response. So, that being said, allow me to retort....

First off, It is not my JOB or DUTY to decide what people talk about on PUBLIC MESSAGE BOARDS. It's your right to discuss anything you'd like. However, there is also personal opinion as well, and my personal opinion is that I don't feel that discussing the personal issues between Gary Scelzi and Don Schumacher are our business. I see it too often in life in general and on boards like this, that people take the personal business of professional teams and interject their own opinions about what should be done without the factual knowledge of what is actually happening. I have gone thru this personally over the past 3 weeks since I've left my previous employer. I have received about 100 phone calls and emails from former co workers asking me if I "DID" the things that they are discussing over there..(RUMOR) None of which are true...It's amazing how quick things can get out of hand, so perhaps I'm a bit sensitive to discussions like this in the first place.

It starts with:

1) Did you hear what Gary said on NHRA'S ESPN2 broadcast about being "PERMITTED" to finish the season behind the wheel of the Mopar/Oakley Funny Car...to...
2) I HEARD THAT GARY IS NOT GONNA DRIVE FOR DON BECAUSE SCHU WANTS TO GIVE SOMEONE ELSE A CHANCE TO GET SOME SEAT TIME BEFORE NEXT YEAR...(just an example...don't take literally)..to...
3) OUT RIGHT RUMOR AND LIES!!! Which can be considered slander in some cases.

We all have the right to our own opinion about things. My own is that what happens in the matter of contracts and employment of people over there is their business.
- Does it effect me directly??? NO....
- Am I going to lose anything finantially if Gary does not finish the year... NOT ME...I will be sad to see a peer and mentor of mine not finish the racing season behind the wheel, but I also see this as an opportunity for somebody else to get a chance to drive.

So, discuss it if you'd like, but JUST MY OPINION, I don't feel that it's our business to speculate on why or how Gary Scelzi is going to finish his time with DSR. As far as Mr. Schumacher's "FEELINGS" about this, I am certain he is getting a good laugh about the discussion...(he does laugh you know)

I don't take any offense to your response to my post. That's your opinion, I respect it, and it was not my intention to slam your post. If you took offense, I am sorry.

This is pure entertainment for me. These types of threads provide much needed entertainment for me during my hectic days in the office. My employees and peers are always asking me what I am laughing about in my office, I tell them it is Howard Stern and crazy stuff I am reading.:D

If there is any redeeming part of this thread, it can be held up as a reminder to enjoy message board posts, take them with a grain of salt, and try to show some respect.
