Any Rush fans on this forum? If so, what did you think of the Time Machine tour? I thought it was pretty cool, totally dug all of Moving Pictures being played.

ha, is that a rhetorical question!!!
RUSH is periodically very popular here in the lounge; and now again.

extremely pissed - commitments kept me from tour recently at MN state fair;
in my own defense have caught 'behind the lighted stage' 3x on palladia,
the R30 germany show 1x on palladia, purchased 'live in rio', and will soon
purchase 'behind lighted stage' just for extras.

brazilians sing to 'xyz'
YouTube - Rush- Yyz live in rio

Been a fan ever since a high school math teacher introduced me to them. I have seen them twice and have a whole bunch of albums.

If I had to get rid of all of my music and was only allowed to keep CD's, DVD's & VHS tapes of one band - it would be, without a doubt, RUSH. Sadly, I didn't see the tour, so I can't comment - but seeing Moving Pictures done in it's entirety would've been something special. Limelight is one of my absolute faves!!

May you see many more shows! I have seen them on every tour since the Presto tour. They never get old. Its cool that a math teacher would have introduced you into them. Us mathematicians by training have gotten enough grief about not being "cool" and this is a very fine counter example.

haven't seen them live since their p/g tour!

I'm jealous that you saw them on p/g tour. The one I really would have liked to see is the Signals tour, but I was eleven when the album came out and I didn't have parents that would take me to such a show.

Nice! How would you compare Neil's live drumming then to his live drumming now?
Refined..like good wine.

He was the baddest back then..and I say that from a technical standpoint..I have never seen better..and he certainly hasn't lost a beat. Actually, the whole band is better now than then..IMO.

Neil even does lots of instructional videos, etc at Drummerworld.

Drummerworld: Neil Peart

They are all machines

Awesome, Mike.

Did you see the bio on that Drummerworld link where his last name is actually pronounced Peert.

I did not know that.

of all the things i do not know about those guys, that is one bit of information
that i was actually aware of.

have you seen 'beyond the lighted stage' yet? like i mentioned before, i've
seen it 3x now on palladia channel and can not move from the tv - the first
hour is like reliving my teenage years as they trip from original drummer rutsy
to hiring neil, then thru caress of steel, fly by night, farewell to kings,
2112, then a great segment on hemispheres/la villa strongianto (sp?) - other musicians comment during film and basically pay great homage to them.

simply amazing to watch if your a fan from way back.

Never more shall I return
Escape these caves of ice
For I have dined on honey dew
And drunk the milk of paradise
