I thought the on track action today was good. If I lived close to a IHRA race, I would go. As for the fans, Maple Grove will be the telling sign. If they don't show up there, you can narrow it down to 1 reason, the quality of cars showing up. The cost of the tickets are not the problem.
paul, i will respectfully take the opposing viewpoint and suggest that the nhra has personalities that
the fans want to see, buy their merchandise, and maybe even get an autograph.
ihra is presently offering the same exact entertainment as the nhra; only their drivers, and arguably sponsors, are not
as well known. IMO the e.t.'s do little or nothing to determine if a fan will buy a ticket to watch. it's an interesting study
in how the general public responds to entertainment. mick jagger can sing a song, and then the local karaoke singer
can sing the same song even better. nobody wants to pay to see karaoke bob.
i have to agree with an earlier post that suggested the ihra had maybe hoped for a few nhra 'names'
to show up the triple crown events. we'll see, there's still maple grove. i sure enjoyed watching nat. trail qualifying yesterday.
i, like many were pulling for you kyle wurtzel. you always run well. hope to see you out there again soon.
