ROWE GETS BACK TO BASICS GOING INTO MARTIN
(8-1-2007) LAGUNA HILLS, CA – Danny Rowe and the Unfinished Business Team come into the sixth race of the IHRA Knoll Gas Nitro Jam Drag Racing Series with a sense of urgency lingering overhead. Currently sitting sixth in the points standings; the time is now for Rowe and company.
The Torco Race Fuel Pro Modified Showdown will also be contested in Martin, Michigan, during the Torco Race Fuels Northern Nationals. Rowe, qualified 2nd for the shootout, is vying for $20,000 in prize money for the winner of the race within a race.
“We are proud to be a part of the Torco Race Fuels Pro Modified Showdown as this is our first time qualifying for the event,” said Rowe. “I believe we’re qualified number-two for the event and can’t thank Evan Knoll, Bobby Bennett and Torco enough for putting it on. This is a neat opportunity for Pro Modified racers and makes this race one of the most exciting on the tour.”
Following two disappointing races in Canada, Rowe is ready to get back to basics in Martin and put the Rowe and Rector connection back at the top of the field. While testing continues with the brand new Unfinished Business ’67 Camaro, crew-chief Jimmy Rector has elected to put the tried-and-true ’63 Corvette back in service until the team is comfortable and consistent with the new car.
“We are going to be running the Corvette until we can get some more time to test the new Camaro. We’re excited to have the car, but have to focus on the task at hand – winning the IHRA Pro Modified World Championship. Both of our cars are great, but we need to race when it’s time to race and test when it’s time to test. Trying to combine the two simply doesn’t work. It’s back to basics at Martin.”
