Ron Iannotti tests with new car and new Crew Chief Ken Webber

PLAINFIELD, CT - Ron Iannotti tested his new 1941 Willy's last weekend at ATCO for the first time with new Crew Chief Ken Webber. For 2007 Ron has joined Red Eagle Racing and he is now teammates with Paul Athey. Ron is excited to be back out racing after taking some time off the last couple of years.

"It's been a while since I've gotten to pull the chutes on one of these animals at over 200MPH", said Ron from his home in Rhode Island. "I'm very excited for this upcoming season as Paul and I are planning on having lots of fun and going fast. We're running some match races and outlaw shootouts throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions this year. Paul and I are going to give the fans what they want to see - long, smoky burnouts and good side by side racing."

"Ken Webber and I have been business associates for a long time as Kenny built me my first serious drag car 20 years ago", continues Ron. "The opportunity presented itself to work together again and all of us are excited about the potential this new team has."

Although Ken Webber may be new to the current Pro Mod scene, he is no stranger to fast cars. Ken owns and operates Webber Engineering in Pawcatuck, CT where he builds and fabricates everything from custom pieces to complete race and show vehicles. Some hardcore drag racing fans may remember when Ken was teamed up with Connecticut native Dale Hall back in the 80's. Dale Hall was the first small block blown dragster in the 5 second zone and the team was very competitive on the NHRA tour.

Ken had a few things to say about this new deal. "It has been a little while since I've been this involved in a race operation, but I feel this is a great combination for all of us. Mohegan Sun has been teamed up with Paul Athey for years and he has done a great job promoting his company and sponsors. Mohegan Sun is known for it's impeccable attention to detail as is Webber Engineering, that's what my customers expect when they walk in the door. The business philosophy's are very similar."

"On the racing side of things, this is exciting because both drivers on the team are known for pushing the limits of their cars and putting on a good show. The chassis on both cars were both built by Mauney and are identical. Paul and I will be sharing information and using the two car team to our advantage. Our goal in testing last weekend wasn't to try and run super fast, but we just wanted to get a good baseline and make sure the car behaves as we want it to. Now that we accomplsihed that, we can't wait to get back out there. We'll have both cars out for a match race in Englishtown, NJ on June 2nd and then the following week we both head to Epping, NH for a shootout race on June 9th. We're looking forward to seeing what both of these cars can do."

Red Eagle Racing would also like to thank Mohegan Sun who's been Paul's primary marketing partner for 10 years. Also the following partners: Sterling Homes, West Coast Choppers, Salvadore Auto, Webber Engineering, Red Line Oil, Moroso, VP Race Fuels and Computech Transmissions. For more information on Ron Iannotti, please visit Iannottiracing.com.
