YORK, Pa. (Aug. 19, 2009) - Before the racing activities begin at Maple Grove Raceway, outside of of Reading, Pa., for the 25th annual NHRA Nationals this weekend, NAPA AUTO PARTS Dodge Funny Car driver Ron Capps will be stopping by the York Automotive NAPA AUTO PARTS store in York, Pa., on Thursday, Aug. 20, to meet with NAPA customers and NHRA fans.
Capps will sign autographs and greet fans and customers from 3:00-5:00 p.m. in the showroom. The first 100 people through the door will receive complimentary NAPA racing hats.
“We’ve really been talking it up and we have a lot of customers who just can’t wait to come out. They are really looking forward to seeing him, as well as we are,” said the store's Sales Manager Cary Walton. “I understand it’s a lot of work and we are just thrilled to have him at our store.”
Like Walton, Capps is enthusiastic about getting ready for the upcoming race weekend by meeting NAPA customers and fans. “It’s always fun to do these appearances prior to the races,” said Capps, who currently sits second in Funny Car points and is looking to regain the points lead he had held throughout the majority of the season. “Being this early in the association that we have with NAPA and the sponsorships, getting to know people in every area that we race in with NAPA and the NAPA stores is really fun.
“To see the excitement when they come out to the races for the first time as a NAPA store owner or customer always excites me, especially when we get close to a race where the buzz is very high and NAPA has gotten behind us so much. They do a lot to promote us and our sport.”
