On a sad, sidenote, the karting track was shut down last week by the FAA.
After 50 years of being the oldest continuously operating karting track, and giving a start to many many race car drivers, it was permanently closed.
Technically, it was in violation of FAA regulations (it was on airport property).
I had a lot of fun times there.
They tried and tried to keep it open, but no dice.
Tremendous loss to the Central Coast.
Maybe one day a new location can be found.
Anyways, rock on, team NAPA!
