London, Ontario, September 18, 2006 Fresh off a win at Epping, 3 Straight IHRA Funny Car Champion Rob Atchison brings the Erickson Tie Downs and Tow Straps Monte Carlo home to the IHRA Canadian Nationals at Toronto Motorsports Park. “It is great coming home after winning at Epping and finishing runner-up at Norwalk,” stated Atchison. Racing in front of our home fans is a bonus that we look forward too each time we race in Canada. We have a great following with the Michigan fans at Milan and Martin but Canada is home and Grand Bend and Cayuga are in our backyards.
“ Even though the Erickson Monte Carlo has run some impressive numbers we sure missed being in the Winner’s Circle,” states Atchison. Even though we have run fast all year and set the miles per hour record at Epping we needed the victory to get some of our confidence back. I am fortunate to have such a great crew that works hard to get the job done. Our sponsors and fans have been very supportive throughout our winless streak and hopefully it won’t be that long before we get back to the winner’s circle. It was nice to get the points lead after trailing right from the start of the season at the to the Amalie Texas Nationals. We race in a very competetive class and it will more then likely go right down to the wire at Rockingham to decide the Championship.
