I remember watchin TF and FC running those numbers. WOWWWWW. PS I thought he retired last year. Glad he didn,t HEY NOW !!!!!

Rickie has been 'on it' for a while now.

I was talking to a well known PM driver in the pits Sun night at the fall LVMS race and Rickie came up (probably because he locked up the title that weekend). He made mention that he was basically shady and that's the reason his nickname was Trickie Rickie, among other things.

I never thought twice about it until I saw this thread. I've never had anything but good interaction when it came to him, but at the same time, it's been brief to say the least.

Anybody have any insight into this, or was the guy simply talking out of his rectum?

Speaking of Funny Car, I remember a LONG time ago, Rickie Smith's Pro Stocker was sponsored by STP, and it was thought that STP wanted to go nitro racing. RS said that he would test and license in a Funny Car, because if STP was going nitro, he would go with them. I have no doubt that he would have been successful.

Geezus....5.79/250 for an NHRA legal nitrous car....
In addition to being offensive to the Christian participants of this forum, I'd be willing to bet big bucks that "Geezus" also finds the disrespectful use of His name to be offensive.

The Bible tells us that there will be eternal consequences to be paid by those that use His name in vain, so the next time you have the urge use Jesus's name in a disrespectful manner, you might want to give some thought to the price you'll be paying on judgement day for committing that type of sin.

Wow........and your first post too!! Seriously, lighten up Francis o_O

Mr. McCormack, I really do believe that Carl meant no disrespect with the term "Geezus" and that is probably why he spelled it that way, rather than using the correct spelling. Also, since I'm guessing you use the term "judgment" quite often, it's spelled "Judgment", not "Judgement". I seem to see that spelling error quite often in the writings of people who tend to judge the intents and beliefs of others too quickly and without evidence.

(Sorry everyone, gonna put the soapbox away now...)

Can you be considered a participant when it is your first post? It's a philosophical question you see.

This is a drag racing forum, and I am pretty sure "judge not, lest ye be judged" and "turn the other cheek" is in that Bible somewhere. Besides, it was very obvious no disrespect was intended. If that's all it takes for you to go hellfire and brimstone on somebody, the Internet is definitely not the place for you.

Now, to serious business. How do you get your screen name to show up like that? Just one word? Is McCormack your first name or your last name? Or is it your only name, like McLovin on "Superbad"?

No offense intended whatsoever, to either other members or to the Lord, of whom I am a believer and a follower. Were I not, and had my intention been to use the Lord's name in vain, I could have typed several different things that are actually offensive. Now, let me tell you something, my Christian friend - I'm all for supporting God; I'd stand up for him anywhere, but sneaking around discussion boards and slapping people with these minor Bible-thumping technicalities is PRECISELY what turns people away from God.

But I digress; I certainly don't want to turn a discussion of Rickie Smith into a religious thread.

Let's take a look at that "decided advantage" the nitrous cars had the last 1/3 of 2013 and so far in 2014. Here's the facts. You make the call.

Indy Nats, 2013: #1 qualifier was Smith, by .02. A blower car won the race.
Carolina Nats, 2013: #1 qualifier was a blower car, #2 a nitrous car and the next 9 qualifiers were blower or turbo cars. 2 blower cars were in the final round.
Midwest Nats, 2013: 1 qualifier was Castellana. He also won the race, but with a 6.08/194, hardly an example of superior performance. The quicker-running blower car (throughout eliminations) in the other lane lost because he blew the tires off.
Toyota Nationals, 2013: The quickest nitrous qualifier was #7, down by .13 from the #1 qualifier, a blower car. A turbo and a blower car were in the final round.
Gainesville, 2014: A blower car qualified #1. Castellana did win the race.
Houston, 2014: Laurita, a nitrous car, qualified #1. A blower car won the race.
Atlanta, 2014: Rickie Smith pretty much dominated the event.

3 nitrous cars won races. 3 blower cars won races. One turbo car won a race. Since Indy 2013. Nitrous cars did qualify #1 50% of the time. So, what say you? Is the nitrous penalty fair?
