RICK STIVERS STEPING UP HIS GAME
Currently Qualified in the No. 17 Spot
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (September 1, 2007) – Long-time Pro Modified pilot Rick Stivers is reaching for the stars this weekend during the NHRA Mac Tools US Nationals at O’Reilly Raceway Park. With some of the best Pro Mod divers in the country hoping to make the 16 car field for the AMS Pro Mod Challenge, Stivers knew he had his work cut out for him.
“We tried to hit it out of the park, and we hit a foul ball,” commented Stivers. “We just had it hopped up a little too much, and we’ll be back tomorrow and ready to go. They’re talking we might get two shots, but it probably won’t happen. But anyway, we’ll be okay. Chuck Ford will take care of it; no worries.”
Stivers of course placing his faith in his tuning consultant Chuck Ford, and is remaining optimistic on making the show tomorrow. With a scheduled one additional qualifying shot tomorrow, Stivers knows the importance of making a good clean run.
The AMS Pro Modified Challenge will resume qualifying on Sunday at 2:00 PM, with round one of competition scheduled for 5:10 PM.
