7 years today. RIP Darrell

Hard to believe. I still remember where I was when I read about it.

I never met Darrell, but from all reports he was one of the nicest guys you could ever meet, and he came across that way in all of the TV coverage I saw.

I have had the pleasure of meeting Darrell's brother Chris, and their father Burnell. They are great people and I am sure that Darrell was every bit as nice as they are.

RIP

Darrell was a true professional on and off the track. truly missed. Did his widow ever settle up? never heard anymore about it.

Thinking of him too Bob, Pulled out my DR shirt this morning and been wearing it all day. Really miss that guy!

True gentleman with so much class.....He would 've continued to add so much to the sport of Drag Racing ...Still miss seeing that smiling face ...

I reach out and give a fist and shout every time I go through Sealy Tx. !
And thats pretty often ! RIP Darrell !

Wow. Seven years ago... I remember the audiocast and the broadcast and everything. Sure miss him and that wonderful smile. :(

I remember the day too. That morning he came around the corner of a trailer in the pits & almost ran over me on a scooter. He apologized to me with that huge smile. Plus, June 27th happens to be my birthday. One of the worst ones ever. :(
