REED RACING READY TO ROCK THE MOTORPLEX

The Perth Motorplex at Kwinana Beach is gearing for a spectacular weekend of Championship Drag Racing as it hosts Round 3 of the Australian Top Alcohol series from 16th-17th November.

Ready to rock the Motorplex is the Queensland based husband and wife Reed Racing team, who are making their second trip over to Western Australia with Steven’s 3500 horsepower Funny Car and Debbie’s Dragster.

Since the Australian Nationals in September, which saw the quickest Top Alcohol field in history, the team has spent some comprehensive time testing a brand new fuel system on Debbie’s Dragster that they are hoping will pay big dividends for the team.

“We have been testing quite a few new ideas and innovations on the Dragster including gear ratio’s, clutch settings and the fuel system to ensure that we continue to be at the top of what has fast become one of the most competitive professional Drag Racing brackets in Australia,” Steven Reed said.

“It is the fuel setups that we think we will really be able to make the biggest differences in the cars performances and we are deep into the research and development of a system has the potential to really shake up the category.”

“It is a long process though to fine tune these types of changes as adjustments are then needed over the entire car which only track time can determine.”

“Hopefully in Perth we can begin to see the potential of our plans and we will be able to get both my Funny Car and Debbie’s Dragster in the top half of the field.”

Debbie Reed has kept herself busy spending the time between testing and the upcoming Championship round with a flying visit to the USA to catch up with the team’s key suppliers as well as some sports elite on Drag Racings biggest stage the NHRA.

Returning just days before heading to Perth , the crowd favourite has quickly turned her focus back to the job of securing vital points in her hunt for the Australian Championship.

“It was great to be able to go over to the US and see how they operate their teams and racing programs up close and personal,” Debbie Reed said.

“I managed to catch up with some of the Worlds best racers as well as have a bit of fun while I was there so it was quite and enjoyable trip.”

“But now it is back to business racing and attempting to turn up the wick on my new combinations.”

“I am actually really excited about getting out on track at the Motorplex as I have only raced here once before.”
