REED RACING LOOKING FOR STRONG POINTS HAUL IN SYDNEY

The Reed Racing team is going into the Nitro Champs at the Western Sydney International Dragway this weekend (3rd-4th May) focussed on maintaining their strong position on the Top Alcohol ladder in what will be the penultimate round of the 2006/2007 Australian Drag Racing Series.

The team has had one of their most successful seasons to date with both Steven Reed, driving his new Nulon Engine Oils Funny Car, and wife Debbie Reed in her Nulon Dragster currently running in the top four of the National Top Alcohol Championship.

With just two round remaining to run this season, Steven believes the team has both the speed and consistency in their cars to push the series leaders all the way and take victory if the cards fall their way.

“My Nulon Funny Car and Debbie’s (Reed) Dragster are showing some impressive speed this season and the entire Reed Racing operation is fixated on bringing home a solid haul of points from the Nitro Champs.”

“We certainly have the expertise and cars that are capable to do that and will be doing everything within our powers to make the event a good one for the team.”

“We are always working at improving the cars and have been working very hard between rounds to ensure they are in top condition and ready to go for this weekend.”

Debbie Reed, driving her Nulon Dragster, is particularly fond of the Sydney track which hosted her record setting win at the East Coast Nationals at the beginning of the season in September 2006.

She will be looking for similar performances at the Nitro Champs and is confident of moving forward and getting more points on the board against the men.

“It would be great if I could replicate that weekend again but the competition is just so intense at the moment in Top Alcohol, it is one of the toughest brackets in professional Australian Drag Racing and you can’t take anything for granted.”

“I am extremely excited and keen to do well again in Sydney this time around though and if all goes to plan and I have some luck I am definitely in with chance.“

“A good result at the Nitro’s would really set me up well for the season finale at my home track of Willowbank Raceway in June.”
