I assume some of you 'maters are like me and bought your kids toy funny cars or dragsters from Schumacher's trailer at a race over the last couple of years. It came out yesterday that they are tainted with lead and are being recalled.

Here is a link to the recall information:

My wife already talked with them. The red and blue dragsters sold by NHRA are not a part of this. Only the black funny cars and dragsters sold by Schumacher and Matco tools.

My kids are going to have to go 4-5 months without their cars waiting for replacements, but at least they will be safer toys.

Maybe they needed to make weight?
Just joking-

I've come to the point where I believe the Chinese are trying to kill our kids.

Bobby- my screen can't take anymore liquids being spewed at it this week...Making weight... My vote for One-Liner of the year :D

And you are absolutly on track regarding the Chinese- we already know they have no issue taking out THEIR OWN children...

China does some crazy stuff.....I believe that I read somewhere that they executed the head of the company that created the pet food disaster. We'll have to see how this gets handled...

This China thing has really gotten out of hand. From the pet food disaster, to the tainted fish at Wal Mart and Sam's, to the toys with lead. I have two little nieces that will be waiting for Christmas presents and I am totally lost when it comes to what to get for them. This China thing is really getting scary. Now to hear about some of our Drag Racing toys being infected, it really hits home.

BTW, great line about the weight.

The problem with the Chinese folks is that they have no idea what is required to perform work to our specifications. They rely on use to guide them in the right direction. That said, what about the companies that order the production of items from the states? They should be sending someone in to insure that the items are meeting our requirements and standards. If I owned a large company and needed something produced in China, I would make sure that I got what I wanted.

I met a guy from Northern Cal that was headed to Beijing to look at his summer line of tack for horses. He is in partnership with a manufacture in China and if there is a change in product he stays on to make sure the quality meets his standards. Also, he sends some to the manufacture every 6 months to look at the product for quality.

I'm not on anyone’s side in this, however, I feel that the here in the states companies have the responsibility for their product.

Well, I'm no fan of foreign made items, but I can tell you that when the pet food scandal hit, the former head of China's State Food & Drug Administration, was excuted for taking bribes to approve untested medicines. And swiftly.

Since the pet food issue, there has been a spotlight shown on China and it's exports. When you have major Brands recalling stuff made in China, for whatever reasons, this is a good thing, in my mind. China should definately feel the pain.

We have already decided that one our daughter starts teething, we are going to let her chew on sticks. Better for her than any of the other stuff on the market.

Both my boys had a steady teething diet of the mini bagels when it got to be that time for them... impossible to get the whole thing in their mouth, all natural and just the right density for soothing those tender little gums..:)
