[coverattach=1]MEMPHIS (Oct. 4, 2009) - Rain has postponed the NHRA Mid-South Nationals at Memphis Motorsports Park until Monday, Oct. 5, at 10 a.m.
Matt Smith, rider of the Nitro Fish Ultimate Gear Suzuki Pro Stock Motorcycle, who qualified No. 2 and faces Redell Harris in the opening round of eliminations, commented on the rain delay:
“I’ve been resting, browsing the internet a little bit," he said of his waiting day in the rain. "Just hanging out with the guys and that’s about it. I’ve got a little game on my iPod that’s called Cubes, and I’ve been playing that a little bit. Just taking it easy, really. There’s not much we can do in this situation.
“The only thing I’m worried about now is I have a little boy (son Tristan) that I’m supposed to get tomorrow evening and I’ve got dogs at home, too. I’ve got to figure out plans to get them taken care of, so that’s all I’m really worried about.
"We’ve still got a good bike and it doesn’t matter; we just want to run this bike.”
