Dennis Radford Racing is proud to announce that in the 2011 season that they will be competing for the NHRA Get Screened America Pro Mod Challenge Championship, but that they will be taking a new directing in attaining that goal.
After nearly fifteen years of running their pro mod traditional nitrous configuration, Radford has decided to change how they did things have looked towards the future. Radford has entered into a cooperation agreement with Harry Hruska, and Precision Turbo. Radford has taken and aggressive position on the 2011 season and will be utilizing the same turbo/engine configuration that Brad Personett has made for the past two seasons with a great deal of success.
Hruska, and the staff at Precision Turbo , who is undoubtedly the most prolific turbo tuners in drag racing will be providing technical support to Radford on the set up and running of the turbo system. “
In return Radford, who is arguably one of the best clutch and chassis tuners in pro mod, will be supplying input to various Hruska customers. Radford at one time was the quickest nitrous pro mod in the series and still holds one the top ten times every recorded for a nitrous pro mod in NHRA trim. In addition to that he is a former ADRL World Champion crew chief for Billy Harper in 2007, the same season in which Radford’s own car finished second behind Harper for the title.
“We just got tired of the sanctioning bodies all saying that they were going to make rules changes to make the racing more even, (with the blower cars). So now there is this option and it has a perceived advantage, and we just decided that is the road we are going to take” said Radford from his Oregon shop. The is putting on the final touches to the Rob Mathies built Plymouth Duster and then the team will head off to Valdosta, Georgia to test the combination prior running the first NHRA event of the year at The Tire Kingdom NHRA Gatornationals at historic Gainesville Raceway in Gainesville, Florida.
