Tony is a big “brand name” and I bet that attracted R+L. Or maybe Josh had already lined up a bigger buck sponsor to take to JFR, or JFR required more money than R+L would/could pay.

I also watched an interview with Richard Freeman where he said that he told NHRA that he was going to park the Top Fuel team with his Pro Stock cars. One huge R&L compound.
