Can anyone explain why some tracks have two pro qualifying sessions on Friday while so many others only have one?
Thanks. I still think NHRA should for the price they charge! After all dam near every track sees only one national event except for the select few Pomona and Las Vegas which is formally owned by Bruton Smith ( RIP ). Fridays ticket prices haven’t been lowered! Having a track dip into their profits doesn’t sound fair to me!Someone mentioned that if the track wants to put up the money for the 2nd session on Friday, That they can.
Maple Grove is 4-day event, and only 3 Pro Sessionswasn't sure what thread to ask this in.......maybe this one?
topeka 3 day event: 3 pro Q sessions with TF, FC, PS, and PSB
brainerd 4 day event: 4 pro Q sessions with TF, FC, 12 car PM, 6 car MMPS, plus STK/SS class on thursday
both events standard stops on the tour
IMO both events work very well. my personal preference is brainerd. run em' 4 days, especially if you have the pit space to accommodate.
also, personally i'd like to see a few national events over the year shuffle the classes and entries.....for example, lets say brainerd, seattle, or new hampshire (most travel)
nix the top sportsman and top dragster classes and put the quota for other sportsman classes higher. ...... 100 cars instead of 50-60 ...... find a presenting sponsor to increase purse.
you want racer gate money? stk / ss / sg / sc IMO is still where it's at.
they are running STK class elims at reading this year ...... with koretsky's as new owners, i wonder if they would or miteMaple Grove is 4-day event, and only 3 Pro Sessions
If the track puts up all the money then the track should be able to pocket 100 percent of the proceeds, which I think would be lucrative based on the fan count I've observed duringmy Friday evening attendance at national events, which is quite often the only session I attend. Sunday is jam packed with people and often hot as hell. Friday is much more relaxed and often gives fans some time to visit with the competitors. That ain't happening on Sunday.Someone mentioned that if the track wants to put up the money for the 2nd session on Friday, That they can.
