qualifing ????

No big shock there. Larry is a top-notch driver, but neither he nor anyone else is going to coax a half a tenth out of that second-tier (at best) car. The Dotes need to warm up to that fact or go the same direction they have been, blaming drivers seems to be their MO.

I just hope they don't "Lesenkoize" him. Leaning on a 2nd (or 3rd) tier car in an attempt to match the upper tier often leads to boom-boom.

Make that 3. I'm just glad that this is proof to some of the theories that you could throw a top notch driver such as this one, into any car and it's gonna run magical. A mediocre driver could win in a great car, but a great driver can’t win in a mediocre car.

I think Hillary is attractive, very intelligent and a class act but Khalid alBalooshi has left on just a couple of drivers this year. Hillary is one of them and I think provided him with a first round win..perhaps his first this year although his reaction time was nothing to brag about. That was just a very few weeks ago. I think she was always overthinking the process.

And don't forget to set your alarms for Midnight (PDT) to watch the ESPN2 qualifying show, that's 2:00 AM Central and 3:00 AM in the East.

God bless TIVO, should be a ratings grabber!

Seriously, I don't even know why they bother, especially since they're running a qualifying show before eliminations on Sunday.

By the way- did anyone notice the quiet rise of AJR into the countdown? ;)

I am gonna be grinnin ear to ear by Pomona if Langdon becomes the late-season hitter that I imagine was AJ's plan all along :D

So you think AJ intentionally tossed all those races early in the season just to make it exciting at the end? Interesting strategy...

Some people have figured out how the game is played... I'm just sayin

Once he's in the playoffs, they can't toss him out. And it's hard to bet against an Alan Johnson tuneup anytime after Indy...

Del at the Grove last year...
Tony at P2 on "The Run"...

What track (maybe Texas) does AJ not have in his hip pocket for a tune-up?

And Langdon is a helluva driver, and now has a teammate that has nothing to lose (or gain) in a side-by-side challange. Kahlid has already proved he has an excellent car, but is loaded with "shoulda, coulda, woulda's" as far as round losses this season... It wouldn't look very suspicious if both cars had 3.7's all day and then a brainfart in the #99 car happened...

Funny how a thread about LD not building Rome in a day turns into an Alan Johnson nuthuggers fest.

Funny how that works, isn't it... A little like American political races... :D

Distract, distract, distract ;)

Bubye now, Mr. Friedland- nothing for you to see here anymore... :)

Lets see, this thread has discussed Larry Dixon, Hillary Will, Khalid alBalooshi, ESPN qualifing time slots, ratings, AJR, Del Worsham, Shawn Langdon, and now Nuthuggers. What in the world would make anyone think that someone would derail this thread.:) LOL
