One thing I've heard over the years, when the Kalispel Tribe invest time and money into
a project, they do it right.

massive casino complex adjoining the 300 acre racetrack property. looking at the track's website, it seems like the racing facilities will have to be leased.
a new timing system seems to be in the works for the dragstrip. maybe the tribe wants to see what revenue can be made from the dragstrip? there is a gravel pit on other side
of raceway. i'll guarantee you the dirt under the track is worth 10x more than any revenue gained from racing cars there.
i wonder if this new purchase could be covid relief money? (they just bought it in oct. of '21) ....... hope it all works out and can remain a local racing facility.

Man don't bring people down from this great news! The Kalispel Tribe won the bid on the track, former owner Spokane County.
June 29, 2021 $6.1 million, and yes they own the casino. They are going keep the race track and making inprovements over time.
Qlispe Raceway Park will be headed by General Manager Rodney J. Nomee, Kalispel Tribal Councilman and a proud member
of the Northwest Racing Community for many years. That is not a gravel pit (have you been to the track) that is a storage area
for old cement and asphalt when the State and County do road project's. The reason for the new timing system the Tribe did not
buy anything from the former leaser of the track (timing system, track prep equipment ect). The only other thing I have heard
they might build a water slide park somewhere on the property. I know one thing Mike you need a new computer your caps lock
does not work.

you're rite jim. my post may have read a bit too negative. just trying to be pragmatic. i really do hope the racing continues on this parcel of land.
the tribe paid $20k+ per acre for that parcel. i'm sure the county wasn't paying themselves property tax. $6.1M is a great out for the county. (the 300 acres will never again generate prop. tax)
did the racing organizations that used the tracks have a good/great lease deal with the county? how about now going forward with the tribe?
if the tribe can make money for the unforeseen future leasing the tracks, then all is good for the racing community. if they can't?
this acquisition is not about racing, it is about land and money.
