On holiday weekends here in Austin, they ban PWC on Lake Austin (there are several other lakes, but this is the nicest) altogether! Does anybody else's citys do this?

I've heard Lake Tyler was/is doing this too, I haven't been out there for three years though because it was about six feet low, now it's full and full of hydrilla too so the boat will stay home this year too. I have a friend with a Yamaha Waverunner and my Brother has a Tigershark Daytona (remember those?) the Yamaha is narrower and is much easier to flip over than a Sea Doo, all of my Friends with Sea Doo's have had NO problems with them, if I were in the market for a PWC a Sea Doo would be my only choice.

Well, I'll indicate my age here..... I used to own a WetBike!! Back in 1980 if you woulda' said "PWC" I woulda' thunk you meant Pretty Wild Chick!!! I think it was only Kawasaki Jet Ski & Wet Bike back then. Those wet bikes were badass though - could outrun any Kawasaki, anyday. It was a little squrrily to get used to the balancing... but it was a blast. they were pricey; but they were way cool because they we so new. The PWC's I see today are too much like miniature boats.

It's wide open here at The Lake of the Ozarks. There are more PWC's here than on any other body of water in America. We also have the #1 Yamaha Waverunner dealership in America. This is watersports paradise...
:D

OK, against some of the advice you guys gave, we bought a 2007 Yamaha VX Deluxe last night! We pick it up tonite, and I'll get it on the water for some break-in on Sunday if all goes well. We did get a killer deal for the PWC and a nice trailer, so overall I'm happy, and the wife is happy!

You'll find the Yamaha to be the most dependable pwc on the water. Ours have been perfect!

have fun...

Glad to see you get one!!! I dont know if this is your first PWC, but you will absolutely love it!!! We werent trying to "steer you away" from PWCs' just trying to warn you about the streotype given to them.

WetBike!! I still have one out in the barn, havn't used it in years and as you said a little squirrily is puttin' it mild. That was the early PWC that would have people shaking their head when you were out jumping wakes. One wild ride. Now we run Yamahas here on the mighty Ohio.

We were hoping to go break it in tomorrow, but I've had a flu bug for a few days now, so we may wait until next week. Mom-in-law & Pop-in-law bought a VX Cruiser last night, we pick it up on Tuesady, so we'll have a pair on the trailer!!

I know wakeboarders have been given a bad name, but I wanted to post a link to a video of my cousin Tom Fooshee at a tournament he did in the Phillipines! He placed 2nd in the world!!! I guess you can say I'm pretty proud!
