We see where P/S PS/M rate with top brass. When they did the track repair during the first session of Pro Mod, they cancelled the rest of that session, as well as Pro Stock Motorcycle and Pro Stock session 1 to stay on schedule and went right into Funny Car.
So without knowing what actually happened ... once again someone will point accusatory fingers of disrespect and unfairness? Seemed like the PS contingent were all happy with what happened. There was much concern about the track patch that was installed and if it would upset the Bikes and lighter low downforce cars. Plus it had very little rubber on it. If you were watching on ESPN 3, you saw a lot of right lane singles in Q2. Nobody wanted to be a guinea pig I am sure.We see where P/S PS/M rate with top brass.![]()

The Nitro cars motored right over it and laid down some much needed rubber.
In the end I bet those classes are happy especially pro stock (the track was real loose when the pro mods ran their fiest session) . It was water coming back through the track that caused the delay and the cancellation of those sessions last night. It does seem odd though that they could not make it up even today they is a lot of time after the pros finish tonight to get those classes the extra run.
We have our report including the water issue on our home page. speedzonemagazine.com
You know thats exactly what I expected the response I would get. They have plenty of time to make it up on Saturday but they don't care about letting them get data they need to possibly when a race. These teams have a large investment in these cars and should get the allotted rounds offered if possible.
The first pro sessions today are 2nd round Pro Stock Car and Motorcycle, according to Drag Race Central.
I would think they might be happier collecting data in the day time today, rather than last night when they had fantastic conditions that were no where near what race day will bring.
They were filling in live TV time during oildown cleanups. As soon as the Pros got done, there were four rounds of Sportsman eliminations waiting to run. Given the tight curfews for starting and finishing onSunday, those rounds had to be run this evening.I agree, watching on TV they're filling in to space to use up time allotted by ESPN so even if it wasn't shown they should let them have the last qualifying round. I not sure if pass ran by Allen Johnson held up as record run, if not that session he could have backed it up and that equals points.
Thanks Jeff, nice to hear the real story for a change. Are you listening GL, probably not.Post #23 is a very informative post by Nick Ferri that gives insights not provided on the audiocast/ESPN2 coverage (or at least missed by me).
