I'm sure more data will come out soon, V Gaines was down in Tucson earlier this week testing as well. You can find some shots on FB - Tucson Dragway and Matthew DeYoung.

The conditions in Bradenton were pretty darn good. Testing this time last year, the cars were in the mid to high 40's.

I don't think they look bad, considering how far from stock PS bodies are now. But, I didn't mind the scoops either, I actually thought they looked badass.

Who else thinks the new PS cars with the windshield laid back inline with the hood and roof are uglier than the old ones with the big scoops.

I actually like the look better w/o the monster hood scoops. My son liked the scoops better. He and I agree that both styles suck compared to the classic Pro Stock cars that actually looked like their street equivalent.

Like FCs, unless NHRA makes major rules changes, the PS bodies aren't changing anytime soon. The cool thing is that there's a huge number of new factory muscle cars competing in different classes for those that want to see cars that are closer to stock appearing.

There has been a lot of talk about stands emptying after Fuel cars run, so fans are sparse while P/S runs. How about running P/S first or in between Fuel classes. . The positive for this it would give Fuel cars a little more time in pits between rounds and a lot more exposure for P/S class.

Pretty sure track prep is different for the Fuel cars, than for the PS cars.

They used to run the Pro Stocks first in the older days. They'd have the "Pro Stock Parade" during the opening ceremonies where the cars would parade down the strip two by two, then rip back up the return road to stage for the first round.

I guess a person would have to hurry a bit more to get to the concession stand and restroom while P/S was running if they did that.:D

When you charge people big dough to get into an event, you can't make them sit thru something they have no interest in. NHRA is already guilty of that. They don't need more.

Track prep is the reason they don't do that. Nitro classes only want it prepped for 100 ft because otherwise it chunks the tires. PS needs it prepped to 1320 or else it's like they're on an skating rink.

that would be interesting if Hartford became an instant frontrunner, but wj hasn't put a top 5 car on the track in nearly a decade so lets see what happens
