If one were to put a Pro Mod engine powertrain in a TAFC, would it be faster or slower?

that's a good question ......
i'm almost enjoying top sportsman way more than PM, PS, MMPS, or TAFC.
sooper cool variety of cars and engines, bracket racing at stoopid speeds

Would depend on the engine. Seems to me that a Pro Mod with a screw blower would be close to what TA/FC is now.
On NHRA.tv yesterday is was stated (Jason Galvin) that Nick Januik basically took the engine out of his TAFC and put it in his "RedLine Oil" sponsored Pro Mod Corvette that he is running at the US Nationals.

In a way he did, but didn’t. ProMods run a PSI “C” blower where the TA cars run a PSI “D”. The “C” blower will support a bit more power than the “D”.

So to answer the OP’s question. A PM legal engine combo would be faster in a TAFC than the current TAFC engine combo.

Not so- the rpm limits on the overdrive are way lower than the alky cars
