You gotta go to March Meets and the Reunions. Got to.

Thanx, man.
Good call on being at the end of the track for the finals...those pictures are classic!
I'm such a loser, I wanted to at least be close to a little bit of celebratory victory.

Some random comments:
A big congratulations to Ron Capps on being honored with the Jack Williams recognition. Really wonderful award given to a guy that does TONS for the promotion and betterment of the sport. Appearances, call-ins to radio shows, in-studio visits, tv appearances -all at ungodly hours of the morning- pre-race appearances...
Really nice honor. Cheers, Ron.
The event price was right. $60 bux for 3 days. I really liked that. I hope the prices stay like that. They might consider a lower price for Sunday however.
Famoso raceway: please get rid of the "ticket required to enter the grove/camping area" policy.
The sherrifs were being power trippin douchebags to a lot of fans. We all have tickets to be on the property anyways, so why hassle us? People were pissed! Not good business. Very inconvenient and kills the good mood vibe. Most but not all the Famoso red or yellow shirt workers were mostly cool and down-to-earth friendly.
There were lots of oil downs but the track crew prepped the racing surface good over and over and over. There needs to be entertainment on stand by for these down times. Fans left in droves during oil downs. Fire up cackle cars on the return road or something. (there was one car that did this and it was well recieved)
Saturday was pretty good attendance. I saw cars parked almost to Zerker road. The gas prices probably kept it from being bigger as in other years. I asked the snow cone lady on Sunday -temps were in the 80's- if she was making tons of cash. She said, "No,it's a little down from other times."
Sending cars back up the return road was a cool idea. Not a lot of teams did it. Some did but drove too fast or no one was in the car waving at fans. Others did a good job at engaging fan response while driving down the return road. We need more of that. I understand it is more difficult to navigate through the pits behind the tower, but i think it would be worth it.
Lots of teams threw free shirts and hats and swag into the crowd. Very good.
There are TONS of casual spectators that were there just to do something for a day. Not hard core race fans, just regular folks with families/kids hanging out at the races for a day.
The food prices and quality were ok. I surveyed most of the vendors were understandably priced. Not bad.
