Hope Comp Plus work this weekend will finally show NHRA how much great car sound adds to streamed audio. Imagine having NHRA TV every event with excellent car audio, I would pay a premium for that
"Back in the day" the announcers used to shut up and let the cars do the talking. Help me out here old farts, TNN, Bob Frey and Steve Evans? Can't remember if Bob did tv. I know he was the track public address announcer for years.

Is there a fee that the racers have to pay in order to test at a NHRA sanctioned test track?

Great job by Comp Plus, the video was great the last 2 days. The recap videos from the various locations on the track were even better. I was able to see what I saw fly off of JR Todd's car on Friday with your video from the top end, it was the roof hatch.

in this case PRO sponsored the test. PRO is the Pro racers org so one way or another they paid. When Al Anabi was going strong they use to pay to rent the test site in Florida and invite other teams. I hear Gainseville is going to allow testing before the Gators. Don't know who is paying for that.

So ultimately, the answer to your selective historical memories, is no.

Just no winning with some people. Even when things are looking on the up, we still have to find a way to be pessimistic.

Moving on, I'm glad that drag racing treated itself like a marquee entity.

All the usual suspects looked great. Torrence and JFR specifically. I also was really impressed with the independent teams . Clay, Foley, and Tripp looked great. Wilk in FC too.

Dave McClelland! Thank you. He was who I was not remembering. Not selective memory by choice. Years pass, brain cells die and memories fade! Going to watch the video you did with him in March 2019.
Really enjoy your work on the broadcasts, you have a lot of passion and enthusiasm not seen for a long time. Really enjoyed your behind the scenes production video. If you stay with the sport you to will be a legend someday too.

Watching the testing the last 3 days (Thank You Comp Plus) checking out the new
paint schemes (read wraps). Leah Pruett's car caught my eye, reminded me of this
car I saw once in 1968 or 1969 at Seattle. Jim Dunn's "Rainbow" AA/FD. Maybe not
even close, maybe kinda. Leah's AA/FD is a looker.

Do you remember the rainbow car at Lions? Famous photo showing oil filter coming off & oil spewing out on the track.

Yes I was there yesterday. Was a bit nervous cuz of all the asthma problems I've been having, but all worked out OK. Was supposed to be 8-5 PM but a bunch of cars came into staging around 5:15, so got to watch that. Die hard T/F guy that I am, was impressed with F/C. Force ran 3.83 in the morning & Height 335. Wow.... Hadn't been to the drags in 2 years & forgot just how fast those cars run. GRIN I think 2022 will be great, especially in T/F. Oh, saw up close the new Toyota Supra F/C bodies. Kinda "pointed" at the front, slick looking body. JR has one & Alexis the other. I think only 2 ? Noted a number of Pro/S cars bogging off the line (including Greg Anderson, who made 400 runs yesterday,,,, heh). Some of them backed up & bogged again. P/S running with 1000' clocks. Best times 5.48 & 191 MPH. Thought it was interesting to see what they ran at 1000'. John Stewart was interviewed by announcer. I will always remember him as the teenager who beat Don Garlits at Irwindale, 1973 I think. He still works as a tuner on T/F.

Remember John was also one of the 16 members "Cragar 5 Second Club"
John standing between Garlits and Larry Dixon. Man some heavy hitters
in this photo!

Dean Papadeaus and Main Event Video did Drag Racing better than anybody, Pretty sure if he continued, live Drag Racing on TV today would be in another dimension of quality, where it belongs. The perfect sport for TV, yet most consider "it can't be showcased properly"

I get the need for announcers , but it takes fuel cars a little under 4 seconds & pro stock cars & bikes around 6 seconds to run a race. For the life of me I can't understand why announcers think they need to talk while they are running down the track. Ppl can see what's going on. There's plenty of time to get drivers, sponsors names in before they run and any other info they think is necessary after the run before the next pair. One of the main reasons why I don't get NHRATV anymore. My 2 cents

Respectfully, 40 years later NHRA announcers are still on the same path, even with all the technologies available today to create stunning sound, you must talk and talk and talk
