Phoenix Area Drag Racing?

I believe events were scheduled Saturday at both Speedworld and GRICRP (formerly Firebird - ). Did either of them occur?

Speedworld is still closed and the drag strip formerly known as Firebird event has been rescheduled to April 27.

S.I.R. in Tucson, Jim... We have picked up the slack from the Phoenix track closures (pits have been full, several events from up north have been rescheduled down here). The schedule at Southwestern International Dragway is constantly being updated with new adds (big Jr. $$$ race here this weekend during the County Fair)... Plus we've seen a few pro teams making mid-week testing runs in the past few weeks...

it's really hard to believe that both Phoenix area tracks closed down about the same time. From what i understand Speedworld is history and Firebird's future is unknown at this time. Very sad news.

Guess we'll find out next Saturday if things have moved forward at GRICRP. Information I now have indicates that it is highly unlikely that there will be a race.

It's looking like the April 27th and the May 4th races are going to be postponed, probably until June, wouldn't you know it, I worked my keester off to finish the car and then there's no track.

That's ok, l should make the May 18th reunion race at SIR.
