Duane Shields in the PEAK A/Fuel Dragster was the number one qualifier in the Top Alcohol Dragster class at the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series regional event held at New England Dragway. Duane took the pole with an impressive 5.22 blast at just over 274 MPH.
In round one, Duane faced no. 8 qualifier Bruce Horner from Bergenfield, NJ. The race was not even close as the PEAK Dragster took off like a rocket leaving Horner behind as he fought traction problems. Duane was on a great run and stopped the clock with a 5.28 at 228 MPH.
In the semifinals, Duane was up against Canadian driver Dan Mercier. As the lights came down on the tree, Duane had the better reaction time but shook and smoked the tires resulting in an aborted run. Mercier moved on to the finals with a 5.43 win.
The PEAK Team will now be traveling to Reading, PA this week for the Express Lane NHRA Nationals held at Maple Grove Raceway. Duane would like to thank his marketing partners PEAK Antifreeze and Motor Oil, Final Charge, Blue Def, NGK Spark Plugs, GRP Connecting Rods, Brad Anderson Enterprises, Hot Wheels Car Care Products, SRI and Clean Boost for their support.
